Next workday: June 20

Thanks to everyone who came out for our last workday! The next one will be Saturday, June 20th from 9 am until noon. We're planning to work on setting up compost, cover cropping, cleaning up the garden, and creating a garden sign. As usual, a potluck will follow - please bring dishes, silverware, and a dish to share! Something from your garden would be great. We're still looking for donations - check How can I get involved? for details.

Upcoming Events - 5/14 and 5/16

We'll be gathering at the garden space from 5:30-6:30 on Thursday evening, May 14th, for a potluck and seed swap. This isn't a work day, just a chance for all the gardeners to meet each other. We'll be going over the rules and regulations to make sure everyone understands them, and figuring out which plot is whose. This is also your chance to ask any questions you might have about what "organic" means for you and your garden. Bring any extra seeds you have (for instance, if you bought a packet of tomato seeds but only need two of them); something yummy to share; and a plate, glass and silverware.

Then, on the 16th, we're having our second work day of the season from 9 am to noon. We're hoping to get all the compost spread and the beds finished so that everyone can start planting! Bring any wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, and gloves you have, as well as a dish (and plate, cup, and silverware) for the potluck lunch. Hope to see you there!

The Draft Horse Plowing Demonstration was a pretty good success - even though the ground was too wet to finish harrowing. Thanks to the Green Mountain Draft Horse Association for all their help!
